Born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England, Ozzy rose from humble beginnings to become the legendary “Prince of Darkness,” fronting the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath. With that first, earth-rattling riff in “Black Sabbath,” music itself was never the same. Alongside Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, Ozzy helped forge an entirely new genre, one that gave voice to the restless, the misfit, and the misunderstood.

But Ozzy was more than a vocalist. He was a cultural icon—a magnetic figure who bridged generations of fans through decades of reinvention.
